«As a student at Bucknell I came across the opportunity to study in French as a complete beginner in France. I could not pass up the opportunity, so I signed up. I do not regret a minute of it. My first month has been great! I attended twenty one hours of class a week in class sizes of eight to twelve students. We did grammar, phonetic, pronunciation, writing, and listening exercises. It is a significant amount of work, yet the instructors were there with us every step of the way. Never once did they make me feel stupid for mispronouncing a word or forgetting how to spell something. The instructors are so positive encouraging, and friendly. Speaking of friends I have made several! The diversity at the Institute is great! I have made friends from Japan, England, Algeria, Turkey, Iran, Spain, Korea, and of course France! We go to lunch together often. Sometimes we eat at the local school cafeteria, other days we find local restaurants and try the cuisine!»
«The Institute has many rooms for different levels of proficiency as well as a library and computer lab to practice one's learned French acquisition. It is a great way to reinforce material learned earlier in the day. There is also a nice break room where one is free to take off there student hat and speak in their mother tongue while enjoying a water, soda, tea, coffee, or snack! It’s a great place to rest, recharge for the next learning session, as well as make dinner or weekend plans with your new pals! Speaking of plans, the Institute also has planned activities if one is interested as well. These range from cultural trips to lectures to movie events! All fun things to do with the added benefit of reinforcing French!»
